Yakovlev Yak 40 in 1995
Polish Air Force Yak 40 '041' made the first (and only) visit of the type to Liverpool on 7th August 1995. It operated a football charter bringing in Widzew Lodz FC to play Bangor City FC. Arrived from Warsaw via Amsterdam, but left direct to Warsaw. The flight was operated by LOT as LO4049.
Yakovlev Yak 42 in 2005
Latvian registered Yak 42D YL-LBT of LatCharter paid the sole visit of the type to Liverpool on Monday 1st August 2005, staying until the 3rd. LTC225/226 operated f&t Kaunas, transporting Kaunas FC to play Liverpool FC in a Champion's League pre-qualifying match.
